Higher education pathways

The step from vocational into higher education

Pathways, credit and preparation for learners moving from VET into higher education, and for the providers building those articulations.

IWhat we do

Three things, done properly.

i

Articulation

Building and documenting the credit arrangements between vocational and higher education.

ii

Preparation

Academic writing, research and referencing for learners who have never been asked for them.

iii

Provider support

For providers designing pathways that TEQSA and ASQA will both accept.

IIWhat goes wrong

The two failures we see most.

We publish these because most of the value in hiring anyone is knowing which mistakes are common, and that knowledge is not worth hiding.

Credit assumed, not agreed

A pathway advertised without a documented credit arrangement leaves the student to discover the gap after they enrol.

VET study habits in HE

Independent reading and unprompted research are assumed in higher education and rarely taught in vocational delivery. The transition needs explicit support.

IIIHow we work

We tell you what we find.

Including when the answer is that you do not need what you came to ask for. Anyone who never says that is not giving you information, they are giving you an invoice.

Scope

Where something needs a legal opinion, a financial audit or a clinical judgement, we will say so and stop rather than improvise past the edge of what we do.

Start a conversation.

Tell us the situation rather than the service you think you need. We would rather start from your problem.
